    What does Coinly cost?

    Coinly is subscription only: $39.99 per year, the first time with 3 free days, or $2.99 per week without a trial. Without a subscription the app can't be used. Where meal planning is available, you see your plan before you pay. If you allow notifications, we remind you in time before your trial ends.

    Where does meal planning work?

    In the US and in euro countries, going by your device settings. Everywhere else, including the UK and Canada, Coinly is your receipt scanner and shopping list.

    Which stores can I plan for?

    In the US: Walmart, Kroger, Target, ALDI, Trader Joe's or any other store. In euro countries: chains like ALDI, Lidl, REWE and EDEKA. Coinly is not affiliated with any store.

    Where do the prices come from?

    In the US they are estimates based on national average grocery prices, adjusted for the store you pick. They are not live prices and do not include sales tax, so your total at the register can differ. In euro countries, ALDI prices come from ALDI's websites and other chains are estimated.

    Are the photos real?

    The dish photos are AI-generated examples.

    Which stores can I scan receipts from?

    All of them. Supermarket, warehouse club, drugstore, bakery: as long as there's a receipt. Coinly speaks English and German and knows the big US, UK and German chains.

    What about digital receipts in store apps?

    Take a screenshot of the digital receipt and add it via “Gallery”. Those end up in Coinly too.

    Do I need an account?

    Yes. On iPhone you sign in with Apple or Google, on Android with Google. That way your plan, list and receipts are on every device. Receipt photos stay on the device you took them with.

    Where do my receipt photos go?

    They stay on your device. To read one, the photo is sent once to our server in Frankfurt and on to Amazon Textract; we have opted out of Amazon using it to improve the service. See the privacy policy for details.

    How do I cancel my subscription?

    iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Android: Google Play › Profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.

    Is Coinly on Android?

    Yes, on Google Play.

    Can I turn off price sharing?

    Yes. Gear icon top right › Share prices.
